As always , the Soundworks team as put together an amazing inside look at Hollywood sound teams, this time talking to the guys at Skywalker sound about their stellar work on the new Tron sequel. Along with great shots of the film, there is great explainations for how they reinvented the sound of the Light Cycles as well as how and why certain voices were processed.
One question though - Gwen Yates Whittle talks of a Nova sound processing step to get rid of the buzz of the special light suits they are wearing. I wonder what that might be? I imagine it's just a noise reduction suite, but I can't find it anywhere.
In this exclusive sound for film profile we talk with Sound Re-Recording Mixer Gary Rizzo, Supervising Sound Editor Gwen Yates Whittle, and Sound Designer Steve Boeddeker.
